MEDITATION: FOR BEST RESULTS...
/Something I'd heard many times, but never really listened to before, hit me like a ton of bricks a few months ago.
"These tools are awesome. If you take the time to do rituals, prayer, and meditate 2 hours everyday, you'll be better off than most people on the planet."
A lightbulb went off.
TWO HOURS OF MEDITATION.
At that time, I'd pop into meditation once a week or so. Lame AF.
So here I am, tasked with handing down this same advice, meanwhile I'm clearly out of integrity with the teachings. #whoops
Disclaimer for Newbies: Yoga, qi gong, martial arts, or any kind of moving meditation counts. It doesn't have to be seated meditation. Just a more mindful version of something you're already doing. But I'm not anywhere near new...just stubborn. ;)
Yes, two hours of meditation is a huge amount of time, but let's face it.
I have no 9-5 job, no fixed schedule, no children, and quite literally NO EXCUSE. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I've steadily increased the amount of time I spend meditating. Even structuring a group healing to ensure I get in two solid hours twice a week. #peerpressure
Over the past 2 weeks, I've finally hit that magical two hour mark.
And its GLORIOUS.
I finally tried binaural beats and was able to meditate while sharing a hotel room. #fistbump
I literally crave that time now.
It's my favorite thing to do first thing in the morning. Hood up. Loki in my lap. Snoring to beat the band.
(And sometimes in the middle of the day just for the hell of it. #bonuslokisnuggles)
I've heard about the benefits of meditation for YEARS and after finally putting it into practice, I'm amazed.
My intuition is off the charts.
I'm sleeping deeper and so much better, even though I'm actually sleeping less.
The more you meditate, the less sleep you need. I've never believed this, but it's so true.
I wake up automatically around 5:15 and am SO refreshed. Even when staying up late to meditate the night before.
And I love my sleep...if I get in a solid hour of meditation before 7am, sometimes I just take a nap afterwards. And the dreams are so rewarding.
If you struggle with a daily meditation practice, start with small little bits. A few minutes here and there still count!
And if you don't have access to the magical, trance-inducing sounds of a snoring bulldog, definitely try out binaural beats.
I'm listening to this one and I LOVE it. It's available on Spotify and iTunes!
It might seem like an awful lot of time to invest in doing nothing, but I promise it's so worth it.
LOVE!
